Facial Rashes - Ways to Deal with these Irritants

Facial rashes represent areas of inflammation that manifest both a change in skin color and texture. Extreme itching, raised bumps and redness usually characterize these skin rashes. A facial rash can result from any number of sources. It can be caused by an allergic⁄non-allergic reaction to foods, irritation, plants, disease, chemicals, insects, animals and a host of other environmental factors. Using natural skincare products can help narrow down the culprits for a facial rash.

Skin rashes for the most part aren't dangerous. But this doesn't mean that people can go about treating them without first asking a facial skincare professional's opinion. All rashes need to be examined by a physician to ensure that appropriate treatment is prescribed. The natural skincare market has a wide range of over-the-counter skincare products available but these shouldn't be used if a doctor was not consulted.

Facial Rashes - Rosacea 101

If your skin has been unusually red and broken lately but it doesn't feel like it's a regular acne situation, you may have what's called as Rosacea. Its symptoms include redness of nose, forehead and cheeks, broken capillaries and acne-like lesions that don't clear up using regular pimple treatments.

Here are some general measures you can take to combat Rosacea:

  • Using a light, oil-free sunscreen will help you stay protected against the harmful rays of the sun.

  • If you have an idea of what's been triggering your facial rash, minimizing exposure to such factors will keep facial rash or flushing at bay.

  • NEVER apply topical steroids to Rosacea-affected skin.

  • Limiting exposure to hot showers and baths, hot and spicy foods, warm rooms and alcohol will help ease facial rash problems.

  • Avoid oil-based face creams. Use natural products like water-based cosmetics instead.

Getting a facial rash isn't the end of the world. There are lots of natural facial skincare products out there to choose from to help deal with your rash situation. Consulting a dermatologist is also worth doing. The Internet has a ton of stuff on proper facial skincare treatments so make doubly sure you check it out prior to purchasing anything.
