Wrinkle Reduction - Mixing Treatments with Prevention

Wrinkle reduction treatments, procedures and products have become an important part of some people's lives, especially among women. A lot of people are always eager to know more about whatever new technology has been recently developed to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. Some, especially those who can afford them, actually try these treatments to have smoother, younger skin, without any trace of a single wrinkle or fine line.

Wrinkle Reduction - Not Just a Cosmetic Endeavor

But sometimes, reducing one's wrinkles goes beyond having a Botox injection or a micropeel every so often. Wrinkles, particularly dynamic wrinkles, which we know better as smile lines and crow's feet are caused by the repetitive facial movements and expressions that our skin somehow “remembers”, leaving facial creases in the form of wrinkles and fine lines. In other words, they are bound to return as long as we keep doing them.

If you think about it, one's pursuit to keep wrinkles and fine lines at a minimum goes beyond a one-time, big-time deal. It is in fact more of a lifestyle. And as the cliché goes, Prevention is always better than cure. Contrary to what others may think, a so-called “anti-aging” regimen isn't strictly for a particular age group. To reduce whatever wrinkles you have now, and prevent more lines from developing in the future, having a healthy attitude towards your skin should be done even at an early age. After all, wrinkles and fine lines actually take time to develop, which explains why they also take time to even diminish.

Having a healthy attitude towards your skin means eating right and staying away from fatty foods, exercising regularly to promote proper blood circulation, sleeping properly – meaning, on your back instead of on your face and of course, protecting your skin from the sun's rays, moisturizing regularly, and most importantly, choosing the right kinds of products that you will allow to touch your face.

However, if you opt to undergo treatment to reduce your wrinkles, make sure that you consult with a reputable dermatologist or surgeon first of all, ask the type of treatment that best suits your wrinkles. Also ask for recommended frequency (if applicable) and how long the effects are expected to last. Lastly, ask about recovery period and make sure that will fit your lifestyle.
