Drying Lotion - Be Acne-Free!

Drying Lotion - Be Acne-Free!

When looking for a drying lotion for your zits, don't look for it in tanning lotion & supplies. Go to your dermatologist and get her recommendation. Usually skin breakouts becomes worse if treated with incorrect medication or just on do-it-yourself home remedies.

Most drying lotions contain salicylic acid, which exfoliates pores, allowing other drying ingredients to penetrate the skin and treat the infection. Other drying ingredients include sulfur, zinc, camphor, and iron oxides.

If used overnight, antiseptic drying lotions can help in lessening the severity of the blemish, alleviate tissue irritation, and help to inhibit the growth of bacteria.

Before using drying lotions, you should cleanse face thoroughly with a good facial cleanser for your skin type. Use clean cotton swabs when applying the lotion. Apply directly to blemishes.

Take note that excessive use of drying lotions may cause too much dryness of the skin. Use only as directed by your dermatologist.
