The Facial Brush – Your Face Needs Grooming, Too
When the
facial brush first came out, it hit the
cosmetics beauty products industry by storm. More particularly, it complements most
beauty products with cleansing properties, such as
facial lotions, creams, washes and exfoliants. The product is made with either artificial (nylon) or natural (horse tail) bristles, shaped into a round
brush about 1 ½ inches in diameter followed by a handle for easy grasping. Some
face brushes are thin and spread out like a fan. Their main purpose is to exfoliate and loosen your
facial skin and rid them of dirt and remove excess oils when creams or
facial cleansers are applied. It's like giving your face a shampoo.
A
Facial Brush Isn't for Everyone
If you have ultra-sensitive skin that irritates easily even with just a touch of a feather, the use of this product is definitely not for you. Even if you apply a
facial cleaner with a sensitive skin formula, and even if your
brush is made from the softest natural bristles, expect your skin to still suffer some damage. When you purchase a combination product of the
brush and the cleanser, and you've got sensitive skin, keep the cream and throw out the puff. Apply the cleanser gently onto your face and lather up slightly. Rinse with warm water and tone⁄moisturize afterwards.
If you insist on trying on the
brush, throw out the ones made from plastic; they're hard and brittle. Get one with soft, natural bristles that slightly tickle to the touch. This is the true test for softness and your skin is least likely to scratch when you use it.
