Mud facial recipe
A mud facial is one of the popular herbal beauty products in the market today that has taken the public by storm. The use of natural beauty cosmetics has gained back its popularity after all the publicity on the use of animals for cosmetics testing and artificial ingredients. After all, there's nothing more luxurious than the thought of having a mud pack on your face as it cleanses, tightens and smoothes your skin, all at the same time!
Mud packs are usually composed of various ingredients, and definitely not made from the dirt that you find in your backyard.
These mud-based facials also contain products such as eggs, oil, citric acid, fruits and other essential oils. You'll be surprised at how easy it is to make your own herbal remedy at home, without spending too much as you would with a branded beauty product.
Mud Facial Recipe
This recipe is an at-home facial made from natural ingredients and is best suited for oily skin types.
You'll need 1 tablespoon of Clay or Fuller's earth mud (don't worry, you'll see these readily at your local health food store), 1 egg yolk, ¼ of an avocado, mashed, and enough witch hazel essence to create a smooth consistency.
Mix all the ingredients together until well-blended. Apply evenly on the skin and allow to dry.
What the mud does is it removes excess oils from your skin while the egg yolk and avocado move in to replace any lost moisture. Witch hazel is a great skin toner and refresher, so that your skin looks rejuvenated and alive.
