Basic Body Lotion1 oz. sweet almond oil 1 oz. cocoa butter 1 oz. vegetable glycerin 1 tbsp. emulsifying wax 8 oz. distilled water (room temperature) 35 to 50 drops of essential oils To make this basic body lotion, combine the sweet almond oil, cocoa butter, vegetable glycerin, and emulsifying wax in a heat-safe measuring cup. Melt everything together in the microwave for about 2 minutes or with a double-boiler. Stir the ingredients over medium heat until melted. Pour the water into a blender on low and very slowly pour in the melted oil mixture. This will turn into a thick cream creating your body lotion. Add the essential oils last. The body lotion will thicken as it cools and can then be poured into containers while its still warm. This body lotion can be stored in the refrigerator for about 1 week.
