Tanning Bed Lotions and Their Specific Use
Tanning beds imitate the effects of the sun's ultra violet (UV) rays. Tanning beds use bulbs that contain inert gases, a phosphorous coating and traces of mercury. UV wavelengths are emitted while unwanted ones are absorbed. However, tanning beds still get hot and so the use of tanning bed lotions or indoor tanning lotion products are important. Tanning Bed Lotions - Efficient Sunless TanningIndoor tanning lotions have a specific use. As such they should not be used because they contain no Sun Protection Factor (SPF). You don't need to wear an SPF lotion when you tan indoors because indoor tanning lotions are designed so you can spend a longer time in the sun. For example, a lotion with SPF 15 would allow you to stay in the sun 15 times longer than you normally could. Since you are controlling your exposure time when you tan indoors, an SPF lotion isn't needed. Indoor tanning lotions help moisturize the skin while helping you get a faster tan. It goes to say that outdoor tanning lotions can't be used in tanning beds because they don't allow you to get a well developed tan. The use of outdoor tanning oils will make the acrylic on the tanning bed dirty and prevent you from getting a tan. It's important to use only quality indoor tanning lotions. Cheap, poor-quality lotions will cause your skin to dry out during the tanning process. This will make your skin will exfoliate faster, become flaky, and you will lose your tan faster.
