Bargain Cosmetics - To Buy or Not To Buy...

Bargain cosmetics are usually cosmetic products that are on sale. Every time people see them, they flock like bees to honey. And why not? Discount beauty products are sold for sometimes 25% to 70% less than they would normally sell for. And we are not just talking about run off the mill beauty products here, most of the time these are top brand cosmetics and so you can imagine why people buy them all the time.

Bargain Cosmetics - More Harm than Good?

As in most things in life, there is always a good side and a bad side. For the 'good side' (and more often the case), bargain beauty products are a simple a manufacturer's way of getting rid of old stock. By old we don't mean expired but simply not new. For instance, a new packaging for the SAME beauty product is coming out so naturally the maker would want to get rid of all the ones still in their old packaging. Many top brands are also very conscious of their image and would never deliberately try and sell expired cosmetics as bargain beauty products.

Now for the bad. Alas! There are instances when bargain beauty products are indeed too old for use. Sometimes, external conditions, like having lipstick stored in warm places can speed up the life of a beauty product so even if it's unintentional, the risk is indeed higher that a discount beauty product is no longer good for use. And if you bought one for use in sensitive areas (e.g., on your lips, eyes, etc.) you might develop allergies or rashes.
